Missions

We desire to equip believers to reach the lost. We do not want to have a “missions program”; instead, we desire to be a “mission-hearted church.” By this we mean that we do not desire individuals to merely think about missions occasionally, but we desire each member to live a missions-oriented life.

Mission is not what we do; it is who we are as followers of Jesus Christ.
How does missions work at Salem Baptist? Enabling all members to participate in missions via giving, going, sending and praying as they live a life that demonstrates a commitment to taking the gospel to all peoples (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8, Psalm 67).

Every February we have a month long emphasis to bless Liberty.  We want to serve others and share Christ in our town.  Our mission begins right here in Liberty, TN.

We want to make sure that the people here experience the Love of Christ and that they know that Jesus Christ "Loves Liberty".

Salem Baptist Church has participated in this International Mission Opportunity for years.  Each year we pack shoe boxes with gifts that touch the lives of children around the world.  Each box also includes the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Samaritan's Purse is led by Franklin Graham, son of Evangelist Billy Graham.

Sunday School Missions Strategy logo.jpg

Beginning in 2021 our Sunday School Classes began to walk in a Sunday School Missions Strategy that promotes missions.

We are challenging each class to complete one mission project per quarter..  The result would be 40+ projects completed by the end of the year.  The goal is to listen for ways to touch peoples lives with Gods love and His message of grace.

Here I Am Ministries began well before it became a 501c3 nonprofit (check out our bio pages). In the hearts of both Tim and Barbara the phrase Here I Am comes from two different places in Scripture. For Barbara it takes her to Isaiah 6:8 while for Tim it takes him to a few verses in Genesis 22. We ventured on vision trips to find the place God would have us and Honduras was laid upon our hearts.

Winston & Emmy Coltart are a church planting couple living in Zimbabwe.  Emmy met Winston on a mission trip to Zimbabwe and their relationship grew.  Today, they are married, they have a little girl and are church planting in Zimbabwe.

Salem Baptist Church along with other congregations have come alongside the Coltart's in supporting them prayerfully and financially.
